|
|
Hi
Can anyone supply me with the color code for the red steering wheel that was fitted in the pigalle cars?
The wheel I have with my car is not the correct color as far as I can tell, so I would be grateful anyone could supply me with the correct color code for this.
Thanks

I could still do with this color code if anyone can help.
I have had a look in the Type 3 color options on the site but it is very hard to tell which color could have been used.
Thanks |

Hi Dave,
I don't think you can get a colour code that would be any use to a paint supplier. The code given by Everett, is the interior designation number.
I suggest taking the car down to the paint shop and getting the best match from their colour chips.
Does this mean we'll see the car at some shows this year??

Everett - Thanks for the code but unfortunately it is not the paint code which I really require.
Mike - Good to hear from you again. Yes unfortunately it is not the code that I need. I am still on the hunt for it though. Fortunately I have a friend who can access a whole stack of color swatches so I think that idea will be the best. However, I think it is going to be difficult to get the exact color as there are many different shades of red in the car (I presume due to ageing and such things). I will probably go off the color of the steering column though as I would have thought that this would be the closest match.
Hopefully the car will be at some shows this year.... I just want to get this wheel finished first

I was going to suggest matching to the column. Try a bit of t-cut on it first, it'll get you down to the original colour.
Don't rub to hard though.....!

My VW Colour Combinations book lists the steering wheel and column color as L652 Scarlet for the Pigalle color combination 79. Any good automotive paint store should be able to mix up a batch from that color code.
