got a little distracted with my T3 that resides on the island, it had electrical problems and i had to go search why the headlights didnt work. its amazing how a car that lives at the seaside has peoblems with oxidation of the electrical components. not to mention rust, its everywhere at an amazing pace. and i thought salted roads were bad...
but, back home at the garage i decided to do some more cutting:
should have done this before blasting, but it looked ok _________________ 61 panel: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=465022

the inner reinforcements are next, they were non existent at the bottom. replacements came from germanmetal that i bought off bugnet a long time ago
the b-pillar is a modified part because i had a spare one. some bending and it fit perfectly
i contacted gerson as well as his shippingdepartment a couple of times for a lower passengerside b-pillar, but no joy. as quick as they were last time, this time i can just get no answer . maybe iŽll wait afew days and try again _________________ 61 panel: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=465022

just read the entire thread and all I can say is AWSOME work! Nice way to repurpose the VW jack into a port-a-power! |

from the front, cutouts made
i am using an aluminum sheetmetal pipe for replacing the heater pipe. its cheap, made to protect isulation around waterpipes. on top open, it uses small sheetmetal screws to close up, that way the two 1m long pieces slide into eachother and into the front and back heaterbows. after covering it with the stock isulaton from the outside it will not be noticeable and never rust again
