Installed a radio in my car. I realize that it is not "correct" for the car, but it's 6 volt, sounds good, and has an iPod adapter. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

Looks Great! Did you upgrade the speaker inside it? _________________ Previously Owned VW's:

It's just a Blaupunkt speaker. It sounds decent. I'm just happy to have a radio and it didn't cost $3000 or $4000! _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

Anybody know of a European trailer hitch for a pre-a that's for sale. I bought a little Westfalia trailer and I want to tow it behind my Continental. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

Just installed a GDP stainless steel exhaust in the Abarth style. Love it! Nice and throaty sound, but not obnoxious. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

It's actually a gray silver color. It is original paint. Unfortunately the car was painted red in the early 70s. It is the same color under the hood and behind the door panels as the dash.. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

Sir,
Can you please post a complete picture or pictures of your dash for me? I have a 11/53 project coupe that I am searching out the needed dash goodies. I want to see what all I need. Nice car! |

Mr. White,
Just about every knob and gauge (except for the Störk oil temp gauge) will be different on the '55 dash vs the late '53 dash. Here's a summary of knobs, gauges and doohickies for the '53 dash:
Bosch headlight switch with stepped knob
3x small pull switches for interior light, wipers and gauge lights
Bosch B-code key ignition switch
Stork oil temp gauge with 2-ended needle (same as '55, though different probe)
Veigel tach and speedo
3x dummy lights, same as '55
push button starter
"S" choke pull, knob similar to hood/trunk release pulls
"H" heater pull, below ashtray, knob similar to hood/trunk release pulls
Autofume cigar lighter, below ashtray
2x waterfall knobs, for ashtray and glovebox (for coupe)
All knobs are ivory. |

I recently had my moto meter oil temp gauge restored by Hollywood Speedo. It was a capillary tube gauge, now it is six volt electric. Anyone know a good place to install the sending unit? I really don't wanna pull the engine to get to where the capillary sender was..
Could I tee off by the oil pressure switch? Would that give me an accurate temperature? _________________ '55 Porsche Continental

I had my carburetors rebuilt by Joe Ruiz (Mr. Okrasa). My car runs so good now! No more hesitation or weird flat spots..
