HI guys! quick question.. i changed out my spark plugs to the NGK's and noticed they are gaped at .20.. no big deal so i put them in anyway.. so i drove it for about a half hour and she stalled out in a parking lot.. now she won't start so i regapped the plugs to .24 .. still nothing... i did notice the fuel fliter is not as full as it used to be if that helps.. i did pull a plug and it was wet with fuel and was black.. i also turned the key with the plug connected outside of the engine and could see a spark.. and when i opened the gas cap it depressurized.

what do you think i should do next?

Fix the gas tank so is does not get a vacuum built up, and adjust and/or get the correct carb jets.

What Eric/Barb said. Check the gas tank vents.

It is not helping, by most likely causing that side to run too lean.

Are you pumping the pedal too much? Should not be getting a lot of fuel down to there to leak out.

You would also think the carbon filter would make up for the expansion/compression of the fuel, when it is hot and cold out.. Unless of cours its clogged Crying or Very sad

with everything soaked in gasoline I'd be cautious about checking for spark

it might be the last one you get

**Solved**

Looks like my heater element that adjusts the fast idle cam is junk.. saw that when its cold would not sit where it should be.. so i moved it back and started the bug without touching the gas pedal (otherwise it would spring back as if the motor was warm).. and TADAH! it runs.. so that and it looks like i have a few air leaks.. Sad

Ordered a new carb and is on the way!

New carb??!!

If the choke heater element is bad, just replace that.

I would rebuild an OG Solex carb before I would buy/use one of the ones that are available new.

The element and also I noticed that it there is a leak from the casting (forgot the name of the shaft) that you have to drill out and put a bushing in.
