I'm missing the knob to turn the lock in the inner handle of the cargo door. Is this available as a part?

Somebody (possibly in the UK) made one out of aluminum, I don't know if it was a one off or for sale and I can't find the thread right now.
Or for the moment have a look in an electronic supply store for a universal knob that mounts with a setscrew, better than pliers for the time being. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Good find! Ordered the MCJ sliding door knob. Pity it is shiny, might have to buy the matching handle
I have been having problems closing my sliding door and it is taking chunks out of my van. Is that inner door lock pictured above in the closed or open position? What should it be set at if I want to only use the outer handle to lock? _________________ magoo classic car mugs

If the inner knob is in the locked position nothing moves, without the knob installed I can't say if it's unlocked or locked but facing back horizontal is open and pointing down is locked, try turning it CCW with pliers and see what happens.
"Chunks out of your Van" where?, you likely have a support roller issue or a worn track, or maybe something needs adjustment. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I'll play about with it later, I quickly checked it yesterday and was able to turn it partially into a horizontal position with my fingers. I thought I read that the inner and outer locks are independent of each other, hence my worry.
The outer cover has bent back. I have a feeling that the door was removed for interior work and not put back on correctly. I can see where parts have changed position. Sorry for the vagueness, but I will take photos tomorrow in daylight.

Could be many things, but the bushings in the swinging link as well as the springs and cams on the body end of that unit would be the first place I'd look. If it's not sequencing properly due to a stuck cam or broken spring it may bite the cover because the carrier releases prematurely. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I'm sure this is long solved since 2015, but the image is showing the lock in the 'open' position. The small roll pin is poking out the top and bottom, and the pin attaches to the sides at the big end of a lock knob and the small tapered end of the lock knob would point to the 3 o'clock position. Rotating the knob clockwise would point the small end of the knob to the 6 o'clock position. |
