Hi volks
my name is Jacopo, i'm 25 years old and i'm from Italy.
This is my first post, on this beautiful forum.
For first i will say thanks to all, i'm reading this forum about 4 month and i learn a lot of, it's a very technical forum.
So i bought last year in dicember my first vw, it's a single cab 1967, found in a old garage, my project it's to lower it, and have fun driving in the Street.
He has abbandoned for many years in a garage, but the engine has started immediatly, and i'm very happy about it.
So i will do patina, but i have to reapir the rust hole under the truck, i sandblasted and cutted with flex the parts unrecoverable
i will show you my work

i think you need to recheck the vin# and your paperwork because that is not a '63
the engine cooling vents change to that position in '66 same with the big back window _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

Congratulations, buddy! The original labels on the door makes it a cool patina candidate! Cool one! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

And "small 5" bolt pattern on the front wheels. Is that a later Bay beam? |
the original front beam was to many rust, so i modify a t2 front beam and i fit it, because it was just with front brake disc
i know that it's not original, but it's practical for me |

Some people would kill for that logo and being authentic makes it even boss-er. |

this weekend i was working on my single cab.
So i'm not a expert in soldering and in the sheet restoration
Unfortunatly or fourtunaly my single cab it was repaired during his year of work, but not in the originaly way
here you can see the repairs of the other owners
this is the front frame, i see that the sheet are 3mm thickness, and flex cutted, for pipe passage.
so i think, if the front it's not original, i will do the same at the rear, for me is the best way and easy way for repair thi SC.
I don't want to remove the old repairs of the other owners because they work well and because is too much work for me.
so i do my self new sheet
Always using 3mm sheet
i made a U and i fix it in the original frame hole
After this, i see that some pipers, was damage, and i think to cut, and remake a new turn.

Very cool find...and as someone else mentioned DO NOT PAINT. The logos are awesome. Also someone else beat me to the punch as it does not appear to be a 1963 from the pictures. The large back window is the give away.
Welcome to the forum. Excellent work
Ciao |

Congrats on the Bus!
It looks like a 1967 to me.
You can look at the VIN # on the right side of the overhead vent in the cab.
Example:
If it says 267... there, it's a 1967. 26 = Truck, 7 = 1967 |
Hi, just thought I would explain why I am pretty sure it's a '67.
In this photo
The gas door has no church key hole.
You can also faintly see impressions about the side gate hinges.
These features mean 1967. _________________ How to Post Photos

Yes correct it's not a 1963, i find the mistake
So, in the truck i don't have any VIN plate, and on the documents it's written 1963
i thinks it was a customs error bicouse this truck come from Germany to Italy, than sold from Italy to Slovenja and now sold again from Slovenja to Italy
it's not a 63 how i can change the title of this topic? |
