I have 3 different 4 tab hoods that I am trying to figure out what years they are correct for. Below are a bunch of pictures for each hood.

Hood #1 was originally Polar Silver:

Hood #2 was originally Coral Red. It has a strange metal lip at the top edge of the hood. Otherwise it looks just like hoods #1 and #3:

Hood #3 was originally black:

Could you guys tell me what years these hoods are for? When I go to sell these I want to make sure I represent them accurately. Thanks for all of your help,
Peter

Thank you Jason. So it looks like I have 2 56-57 hoods. What about the hood with the funny metal lip at the back? Anyone know about this one?

They all look like '56-'57 hoods to me. The one with the extra lip at the top corners is a head scratcher though.

If I had to guess it might have been a short lived attempt to keep water from getting in at the corners. It looks like they have coral red paint on them so unless it was an owner performed mod before being repainted coral red then it is factory.

A check of Progressive Refinements might mention this detail.

Stale air,
Thank you for the response. I had seen both of those links. Unfortunately neither one mentions the funny lip on hood #2.

splitjunkie,
Good thought on checking Progressive refinements. I have that around here somewhere. I will check and report back.
The hood is definitely stock and has not been altered.

I checked progressive refinements and it does not mention this funny lip. Thanks for your help. I placed all 3 hoods in the classifieds and have advertised them as 56-57 hoods.
Thanks again,
Peter
