not crazy at all. i recently gave up on buses. too expensive, the "scene" is just not the same, too many greedy assed bastards and a whole host of other reasons.
i have always had way more fun in my VW cars anyway. my 2180 67 bug daily driver is the shit and no bus that i have ever had can compare to it. my wife is also over buses and is having an awesome time with her 67 ghia.
buses are useful for sure, but they are not for everybody. the subtle peer pressure in this thread is evidence of whats wrong with the bus scene.

I think its a personal choice... Obviously your going to get a one sided response in the bay window forum.
Myself, I have both. I started as a Bug guy, and have several over the years, including my '67 which I've had since I was 15 (and still do). I just recently got into Buses, primarily because they have more room to haul the family around. Very different experience overall, but I like both for different reasons.
If YOU are no longer interested in the Bus, why keep it just because everyone here would? Its YOUR car, and YOUR choice.

A nice 40 HP 1965 Beetle is a joy to drive and own and good on gas. But one should own both. I share your sentiment that the Bus market has been over-run with grifters and shysters

I like beetles and buses personally. If I had to pick one or the other it would easily be a bus though. You could also keep your bus and buy a beetle when you can afford both. Think about if you will regret it or not if you sold the bus.

If you consider the people who post here the "Scene", you are seriously mistaken. There are hundreds of bus pilots who do not post or even visit The Samba. The "Scene" is often undercover or at ACVW gatherings. If you don't like a bus don't own a bus. Who gives a shit? I own a bug and three buses, who gives a shit? Get what ever you enjoy.

Let's quantify this: I would trade my 100% complete, dry California 1973 bus with a nearly dead engine for a dry and complete spilt oval.

I'm no help here, 2 73 busses, campers a riviera and a westy, a 74 thing, and a 71 super auto stick. Love em all!!! On the look for the right bay double cab though! Hoarder status for sure!
