1990 Cab. Car runs fine but has a clunky/rough idle. it isn't too high or low just can feel it in the car when at stopped but once i drive off the car runs fine. any possible causes or fixes? I just had the engine/radiator flushed out and new thermostat put in. Thanks

Digifant. No Cabriolet ever came with CIS-E.

Clean/replace the grounds.

Remove and clean the ISV using carb cleaner.

Ensure the idle is set correctly: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?731083 .

Knock sensor? Check knock sensor for cracks, bad wiring. and proper nut torque to block.(important) ANY issues replace it.
Spray brake clean to find any idle change for vacuum leak.
