|
|
Hello,
I did not know exactly where to ask this question, so hopefully this topic fits well into this general talk category.
I am looking for information regarding homemade or DIY car conversions powered by Hydrogen gas. BY NO MEANS i am talking about all that electrolysis HHO kits and claims that are dubious at best. I cannot even start a www search without being flooded by HHO electrolysis devices. I am talking honest about conversions done on regular gasoline powered cars to run on H2 without claims of over-unity, "car runs on water", "suppressed by the government" and so on.
What I am interested in is practical information such as general construction of H2 delivery the device, plus general data such as practical compression ratios used, timing, air to fuel ratios, hydrogen consumption, plus things like: longevity of H2 fueled engines (do the internals corrode), how about the valves and valve guides, and so on?
Thanks in advance. _________________ 1965 Sunroof Beetle

Thanks - i'we seen some of the topics listed in that search - and most of them deal with the on-board electrolysis device the internet is full of.
Also, i don't look for aircooled-VW vehicles in particular, but any H2 conversion info.
The bus featured in the first picture of this thread might have been an interesting experiment, but the actual information about it is close to none.

This site has links to a couple of DIY conversions:
