Thanks. I enlarged your drawing to full size and smoothed out the curves. I have transferred that shape to thin plywood and I now have great reference to start my work. Thank you very much for your help with this! |

If you are going to all the trouble of making tooling to press new parts, why not make them truly accurate. I suspect the VW community might appreciate a source for restoration/modification parts (that aren't fiberglass). With that in mind you might find someone willing to lend you a section to develop your tooling. Even if you had to buy a original section I'm sure you could sell a few copies to recoup your costs.
I know your are doing this for the fun and experience, but its just as much fun to make it right as make it just look right.
Just a thought. |
