I think you put up a WTB ad some time ago, and that may not be working for you? For the Type 34, I have some Nice Old Stuff I can sell.
Go to my blog, scroll down and on the right under 'Parts Bin'. More stuff is being added this week. If you don't see what you need in there, email me.

...and there's also some dreck in there concerning my own Type 34 debacle. |

Not looking to spend a fortune on some headlights for my type34 and I've been told I may be able to fake a pair of buggy headlight trim rings on the type34. I know it would not be correct and it may be a tad goofy but does anyone have any advice. I plan on modifying some of my type 3 buckets and bulb holders but its the trim ring that I'm not sure on. This is one of the only things keeping me from being able to drive the ghia on the road. Joel _________________ 64 N Model Notch,65 OG White Notch

I have a friend here with a T34 that has non Hella rings around his - nobody but a T34 nerd would know. They were like that when he bought it though, so has no idea what they came from _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

I can't help you on the trim ring, but if you look in my T-34 gallery, you will see the differences in a T-34 bucket/mounting plate, and a regular T-3 part. The plate is kind of unique, but it also uses SB12 parts. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I did some measuring last night and just placed an order for some 50s era Vespa headlights to try and use for the fog light holes and ordered some vintage Mini Cooper trim rings that I hope to use with a set of modified type 3 buckets. All the parts were $90 including shipping. I know not correct but just might work out. I'll report back. _________________ 64 N Model Notch,65 OG White Notch

I would go to the t34 world on Face and ask what you are looking
might cost or spend Same amount buying the correct parts vs. modified and try to make it work and end up unhappy after all
Carsten is very reasonable on prices _________________ 68 T34 1600 Automatic

It looks pretty certain to me that Volvo P1800 headlight rings will work! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

No, but I can as I have examples of both here. It's just raining cats and dogs here now and likely will all weekend! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

First report...
Recieved in the mail today a pair of Vespa headlights I ordered off eBay to try and fit them as fogs and wow I literally pull them from the box and they snapped right into the factor holes and actually hooked into place. They will still need some securing but I'm very happy with the look and the fitment. Here is a link the ones I ordered off eBay
http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/130496369494
For the headlights I bought a used pair of vintage Mini Cooper headlight trim rings on the cheap and recieved them today. The report on these is the diameter is too big for the headlight ring area and won't work
I also ordered a pair of the Volvo ones Tram mentioned but have not recieved them yet. Will report back. _________________ 64 N Model Notch,65 OG White Notch

Joel: I am actually going to do a test swap later today when I get a minute. Glad the Vespas worked out- that's good info! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

So the Volvo and Mini Cooper headlight rings won't work. The outer lip is the correct diameter to fit the headlight retainer ring but then the flare out to much and arou about 1/2 inch too large of diameter at the edge that meets the paint. So now to look for other options that I can make work. _________________ 64 N Model Notch,65 OG White Notch

Hello people!
I've a '65 T34 and someone (PPO probably) has 'fixed' the sills on both sides and while they aren't rusty or anything, they don't really look like original at all and doors don't fit too well, either and I'm assuming that is related to poor sill repairs.
So I've a experienced (VW) body guy who could replace the sills with either the parts he makes or by the set available. Door openings would be fixed at the same time, making it a bit harder.
But the question: Does it make any sense to make those sill pieces (both sides, 3 per side) by yourself as ready-made are available (and quite good if I understood correctly)?
Making just one set takes a lot of time and when it's professional time, it's not cheap. So this isn't going to be cheap, no matter what. I can live with that as long as the end result is good.
Opinions and ideas welcome: This whole project currently exists only in my head so anything is easy to change. _________________ Kharon -- '62 typ1, '63 typ14, '61 typ21, '65 typ34, '74 412, '75 typ26
