Just found your videos.
Don't know where you are but if you want advice for the Alaska Highway I've driven five times in various vehicles and lived in Fairbanks for two years.
Main thing to worry about is running out of gas and the mosquitoes.
Carry some cash, not everyplace on the Alcan can run a card and many of them close early so don't expect to be able to fill up at night. Just because there is a dot with a name on it on the map doesn't mean there is a town or even a gas station their.
And the mosquitos, dear god the mosquitos. This time of year you can pretty much treat the air outside your vehicle like that of an alien planet. Don't go outside with any exposed skin. If you have to stop try and find high, open hilltops, they are a little better. But still, don't plan on spending much time outside. |

You are such an inspiration to me! While I may have made some different life decisions that have kept me more in my office than on the open road, knowing there are people like you out there keeps me going. Some day i will be able to shed it all and have my own adventures. I'm starting with a week trip down to Cali and back from Portland OR in my 70 bug for our honeymoon, but trips down to SA and beyond are in the bucket and just waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump on.
Thanks for being an inspiration with your generosity not only in the communities you visit, the people you take along but also with sharing your story.

FWIW, I appreciate how difficult it was to share the Sharne story. I won't watch it again, for fear that I'll fall in love with her, and Mrs. Bugdog probably wouldn't appreciate that.

Hey guys,
I am just about to drive from the Rocky Mountains Canada to the Arctic Circle in my 10 engine rebuild Bus. FML!
The world seems to get pretty darn big up here and although I am almost reaching my intended goal of Alaska after 3.5 long struggling years, the amount of driving that I have left to do is quite staggering. Actually it is almost a third of the total distance from Chile to Alaska, in just this last section...and then I have to drive back down.
Needless to say that my $10 per day budget gets blown way out of proportion here; so I am sending out Kombi Life sticker packs to anyone who can pitch in a with the Gas to help me finish this trip of a lifetime.
