Looks like a maybe 1940 Kübelwagen chassis (no Beetle body mounts on front axle) utilized to build a bus after the war? What is the chassis number, looks like it is still stamped on the plate in front of the gear shift lever, if it has a "2" prefix it is a Kübelwagen. |

this same vehicle from belgrade already made an appearance on this same forum some years ago...

even the VIN was decoded back then: conclusion, a coachbuilt using kubelwagen drivetrain and a custom body. _________________ cars:

If it is to be restored, it seems the gearstick position would benefit a re-think! |

That's what I was getting at! Suppose you want to head to the store or something, you hop in and end up with a bakelite rectal probe! That's no fun right there. I magine. |

while a mod along the lines of the aftermarket column shift kits that were offered in the 50s would definitely make sense, IMHO it would took away from the car some of its "home-made" character. _________________ cars:

Wow that was fast.. Agreed, would be awesome to see this thing fixed up! Looks like it would be a hell of a big job but unique to say the least. Looks like the bottom was maybe red, top was white? That would look quite nice! Throw on some whitewalls, new ragtop, classy! Wonder if all the kubel engine parts are still with it? |

Yes, beautiful, unique project !! I have not the strength for it. Engine parts are with him, not all, I have not checked but I think everybody's here like at the photos posted earlier at the forum.
