Here is my recently finished 71. There is a long story behind this car and I'll try to post in a separate thread when I have more time.

Newly acquired '70. Was looking for ages for a '69 & never found one I was happy with. This one's been lightly punched in the nose & bumper bumped in the back... but I'd rather have that, than rust. Dry & pretty unmolested. Was orange.
Time to get crackin'
I'll be back-dating this fat chick's blinkers, tail lights, rear bumper, etc. Full tear down.

Damn easy e - that's quite a nice score!
It hardly seems like a complete teardown is necessary for that beauty, but if you're up for all of that work then more power to you. |

Nice find Easy-E,
Good luck with the mods you plan to do. Looks like the side mirrors are on the opposite sides, can you see anything out of the passenger one? (Just curious) |

Thx guys! I could get away with keeping it a daily driver, but it needs some love & I wanna give it to it.
Ya, the mirrors are both going to go. Just picked up one correct mirror... will be keeping my eyes peeled for the other.
For perspective on what I hope to do.... here's my almost finished '58 (that was a nut/bolt effort).
Cheers,
e

Ops yes re paint, very excited to get started on giving her some new paint. Kinda on the fence about lowering the stance. |
Let me say it now...as most won't...the stance looks perfect. |

Good looking ghia luizmelko! Good stance. Normally when people paint the bumper it looks really bad but your ghia's black bumpers go perfectly with your black roof. Good job _________________ 1971 Karmann Ghia

Ah Yes -- the guys from the Southern Hemisphere are starting to enjoy their summer and we're getting to enjoy their pictures and rides
We need a picture a week from you guys during our winter (especially from the beaches) to keep us motivated

To all you with a stake in this past weekend's UCLA-USC football rivalry, this is in honor of UCLA who fought a valiant though losing fight
I was cruising around Long Beach with my little son in the blue one when we saw the yellow one parked. Had to take a photo of these two seemingly near-stock 70's models, while hoping one of you would come out for a chat, but unfortunately we had to move along...
