I picked up the license plate light bolts at Speedway P/N 910-67099RED. $14.99 Not too exspensive. They have some other colors and style. |

Nice Singlecab you picked up !! Happy to see that you can drive it while fixing it up. My '66 was a few years in the making to have it roadable, but I drive/use the hell out of it, I did 8,300 miles in it last year.
I did the Fog light thing too, people ask " just 1 light ?", Yea it's German, so it's like a Monocle ala Col. Klink....
Keep moving foward, we'll be following your progress. _________________ Tom

I cleaned up the dash and put the interior panels back in for now. It does cut on the noise in the cab. Panles look ok for orginal looks like somone painted black at some point in time. They work for now.

I want to let you know, I did not drill a single hole for these door pulls. I ordered from AirCooled Accessories. Very nice quality.
They work really good for getting in and out.
Use a peice of wood to keep from drilling any new holes.
Cleaned up ends and painted. Turned out nice.

Hey Bullibill,
I am in Fenton and I didn't have it ready in time for Urban Chestnut, but wanted to have it there.
Hi (what is your name?),
I was going to PM and see if you could help me with my window seals and I would like to see your collection. I am going to pull them out when weathe gets bad for paint and new seals. Window rattles are getting old.
Any other VW show this year? |
Shame you weren't at the Urban Chestnut VW event, great turn-out, lots of fun. Yeah, "pm" me and come by for the tour, check out the DC. We'll see what we can do to help. No more VW shows this year, but there is a Christmas party for the Gateway VW Club (guests always welcome on Wednesday evening (6pm) at Smugala's Grill on Watson (Smugala's Pizza Pub, 10150 Watson Road, Sunset Hills, MO 63127).
There is a lot of detail on window assembly on theSamba.com or check out my build thread on the '59 DC where there is a bit of info on windows and assembly.

OH man this thing is even more fun with 2007cc of power. Super smooth power band and plenty of toqure. This thing moves out.
New steering wheel from AirCooled accesosories. I like the size and look, not that happy how high it sits.

Finally got my hoops in from Derek. What a nice kit, I made the boards to his specs. and everything fit together really nice. My #1 helper home from college giving me a hand.
All bolted in ready for the canopy. I think I am going with a charcoal grey color.
