The generator backing plate is coming loose from my generator so the fan is hitting the fan shroud.

Are the two screws holding the backing plate to the generator on the back of the generator, so I would need to remove it from the car to tighten them or is there a way to tighten them without removing it??

Lets just say: when you "get there", you should use Loctite, and you'll need a 10mm wrench !!!

It's "LocTite", a sister company of my employer, makes high-quality products. For you, the blue-colored threadlocker should work fine; if you use red, then some heat might be required if one ever needs to loosen it.
