Pretty clean/mostly unaltered & a classic ride.
Looks like it just stepped-out of history! |

Nice car, just an observation but I'd get the metal line with a loop or crook to keep gasoline from getting into the distributor diaphragm. |

Hi guys,
Today I made a few photos of my restoration of my beetle for you! Although are not the best, but I hope you can see something! He has quite a bit of rust on the entrances and at the tip ends. The bulkhead is pretty rusty!
What do you say?
Best regards

I'm looking forward to your repairs, PJ. How are the door hinges and heater channel area? Is the floor pan in pretty good shape? _________________ 1964 Beetle |

Hi,
the door hinges and the heater channel area is also very rusty, but not so much as other bugs I see any times! The floor pan is in good shape!
Thank you for the interest on my restoration!
Best regards,

Isn't it ironic. When I bought my "A" sedan in 1968, the guy who originally ordered the car here and picked it up at the factory in Wolfsburg, drove it for a month in Europe and shipped it back to the states had to change to all red. Fortunately he was allowed to keep the parts U.S. Custom's made him change except for the windshield. Point is later when U.S. regulations changed it was the rage to have the red/amber lenses here in the states. I remember a time when the all red ones were just given away or thrown away because nobody wanted them because everyone wanted the European look. |

I like the driver's arm rest. That's what I'm gonna do to mine.
PJ, did you repair the hole in the spare tire area?
Didn't the seats come with a lever on the side? Or is that for '68 and later bugs? _________________ 1964 Beetle |

RE: seat release lever. They came in two locations in 67. Early was like the 66 models near the seat hinge. Very rare finding replacements
Mid year they were moved up into the side of the seat back.
PJ your car is coming along nicely. Does your car have the full headliner? or is it like an insert into the recessed area of the top?

Hi,
thanks for your comment!
To your Question: The "Sparkeafer" didn`t have the hole headliner!

You've done alot of work in a short time. Definitely looks better with the cream-colored door panels and seats, against the dark blue dashboard/interior color. I wish you lots of enjoyment with the car this year, and getting to the little tasks/changes as you gain confidence with the car.
Are you in the Regensburg area, from the "R" on your temporary lic. plate (rote Nummer)? |
