So im looking to buy a 1995 2.0T Jetta.
Its a 5 speed and the owner is selling it due to the issue of when he puts it in gear it dies.. Engine just shuts off..
Due to it being a 5 speed im wondering if there is a sensor or what?
Any Ideas would be great! _________________ 1976 Fuely Bug

Nope, normally no sensors. But, you say "2.0T", aftermarket turbo or a typo? Could be a busted tranny or failed clutch if it does have a snail attached. |

Can you scan it for codes? The only sensor on the trans is the speed sensor, since there is no speedo cable on these. Sounds like maybe the shift linkage might be hitting something. Does it do it if you go to second gear? Also the reverse light switch is on there, but that doesn't go to cluster or ECU, at least not normally. |
