My single relief 1200 case is cracked and basically unusable. I happen to have a later case from an industrial engine which is mint.can I transfer everything over to the new case? I know I'll need different cylinders to fit the 90mm holes and 8mm stud oil pump but what are the other pitfalls?

As long as we're talking about the 1200 40hp (34 DIN) engine, there shouldn't be an pitfalls. The formula Vee guys have been building 40hp engines on 1600 cases for years. Was your industrial engine a 1200 or 1600?

Other than the changes you mentioned in your first post, the only other consideration is the head stud length. If you are using round boss heads and the industrial used square then there will be a difference. Otherwise you are good to go.
