Jim Thompson Just spoke to some mutual friends. Randy had a nasty stomach virus infection that proved to be too much for the doctors to handle and passed away last Monday 11/23/15.
He will be missed. _________________ Tom Reay

Randy Pollock from Nipomo CA passed away Monday Nov. 23, 2015. He had a vw wrecking yard and was the go to guy for hard to find parts. He was one of the colorful characters that makes this hobby interesting. He was featured on American Pickers earlier this year.

We lost a very special friend this week. If you wish to view the American Pickers show with Randy, Please go to the “Star Wars” episode that aired this last summer.
May you Rest In Peace, Randy, and keep those wheels turning.

Randy was a well known VW "artist" known worldwide, before his son gave him a cellphone, he was only avaible around 4.00pm by his landline, as that telephone was in the shed where he feeded his cats...
Real honestly I can tell I lost another friend, and anytime soon we will all loose one of the last real VW paradise grounds mother earth still had... unless somebody takes over the incredible task Randy had with his place...
rest in peace my brother, so good we had so much contact last couple of years!

Randy's son Paige will be taking the reins as soon as all is settled. Randy and I put on a serious amount of road miles together selling. Loosing a close friend of more than 25 years is very hard, selling at any of the shows and swaps won't be the same without him. He will be missed by one and all. _________________ 30 years experience in the sales of new and used auto parts!

Sorry to hear the news. I met Randy through a mutual friend back in the mid 1990s. He dug an original paint pelican red lowlight ghia out of the Seattle area and I was looking for a fender to donate to a restoration at the time.
He delivered it to me for gas money on a tow truck he had built himself. They showed Randy with the pelican red ghia parts car on the pickers episode.
Great guy, he will be missed. |
