After reviewing this thread, it appears that I once owned an unusual model, at least here in NA. About 25 years ago my buddy and I were given a '70 camper with a basketcase engine needing reassembly down in San Francisco. We were planning a trip deep into Mexico, so then set about getting it ready by cobbling together a longblock from new and used parts (I later did this same thing with a free '80 Westfalia). We both used to be in a VW club up here in the PNW while in high school, so were quite intimately knowledgeable about AC upright engines.
It was obviously a Euro import, since I've never seen another half poptop like it. It also had the towhook, working gas heater, DIN aux plug, front door handle guards...and I think the trip meter in the speedo head.

Wow... never saw this before... in the wiring plan exists an extra switch - do you have an photo off this or an description where to install this.
The VW Karmann Ghia have two different tone horns as standard (335 Hz + 400 Hz).
But not separable by a switch.
Because off the power consumption both are not direct connected to the horn knob, they are using a relay, that I miss in this package.
But the VW part no. 113 951 113 is only a horn 12 V 335 Hz without any cabling.
There is a type mismatch in the parts list (133 951 113 instead of 113 951 113) and the horn is not a typical Hella horn. Are your sure that is an original kit and not only boxed in an old VW horn case...

It was on a late bay fire truck.

The holes were for fog lights.
And it's for sale if anyone is interested
also took these vw original mudflaps including the brackets.
Never seen these before, made the brackets on my own bus myselfs so nice to see an original set!
These are also for sale if anyone is interested!

I recently picked up a NOS trailer socket for my PEKA T2b hitch. This is a Hella socket with an auxiliary electric plug "silver socket." The Germans do not use a gasket behind the socket. The British apparently always use a socket gasket, so consequantly, the Hella gasket is "Made in England."

So what makes it "city"? Louder?, Softer?, Sounds like a Chevy?
Google didn't help much as the current CEO of VWoA is named "Horn." |

From the size of the sound disc on that and the fact that it's not shielded in any way I'll bet that horn is loud and obnoxious in a gritty fingernails on a chalkboard sort of way. Having been to some cities like Cairo and Paris years ago a good horn is the most important part of the car, if the horn doesn't work the car is broken. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I owned a 1959 Renault Dauphine with a city horn and a country horn. The country horn was louder and more shrill. The city horn was quieter and softer.

Interesting, sort of like high beams opposed to low beams or the even lower "city" lights on Euro models, the country is usually quieter so a meeeeep meeeeep would be sufficient IMO, I'd want the crap your pants loud one for where it's busy and noisy. Things were quite different then I guess, weak street lights and no loud stereos or headphoned idevice players to get your message through to. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Well for the cities you describe - like Cairo you for sure need some blasters.
Big horns in US cities be like -

That is great Tcash. It would be a pity to apply a VWoA kit like that in such good condition, personally I would take it to a decal specialist and get some accurate reproductions made up for people to order. Nice find. _________________ 1965 Type 1 Deluxe (1200cc)
