I purchased a rebuilt transmission front Der Buggy Shop in Anaheim (which has since closed shop) several years back for a restore that I'm just now finishing. It manually seems to be moving through the shift pattern but is not engaging in any of the gears. Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your clutch is adjusted properly. I had that problem once and it turns out the I adjust my clutch cable to the clutch arm spring. I adjusted it more to the pressure plate "spring" and it worked fine.

You want 1/4 inch freeplay in your clutch pedal.

Edit: 3/4 inch freeplay. Thank you Cusser.

No, you want about 3/4 inch free play measured at the clutch pedal.

Also make sure that an axle shaft is not actually spinning and that the drum spline is stripped.
