|
|
Hi
Several times now I have seen an awesome shirt floating around. It is a Hawaiian style shirt with early model Bugs and Busses on it. I saw one the other weekend and asked it’s owner where he got it. He had bought it at the local Bow-Wow store, several years ago. So my question is, does anyone know where I can get one now? |

oldschool64bus, the last time I was in Bow Wow (this week) I did not see them. I will keep my eyes open. Are you one of the Bus Pilot's? I have only recently purchased my Bug so I have not had a chance to check them out. |

I have one of the original Deetour Hawaiian shirts. I beleive the company was stopped by VWoA. They are NLA. Google search yielded nothing. Someone once tried to buy the shirt off my back at a VW event, offered me $50, turned them down. |

I have a VW Hawaii type shirt Mine were/are sold by PARADISE FOUND in Hawaii they have other car makes and bird shirts. See if they have a web site. I did google them but didn't see a VW shirt. I like to wear them at VW shows & swaps , I blend right in.. I did wear one a few years ago (1999 ?) to Las Vegas for the finals of Lowrider Magazines National tour. I couldn't believe it people were POINTING at me 50 year old fat guy in VW Shirt with bermuda shorts white socks....At VW shows the only time I got pointed at was when I went by with a oval vert deck lid. I did a search and found that Paradise Found will be not making them. No more fabric sounds like VW again. http://www.mauishirts.com/surfbug1.html Lloyd |

Reserecting an old thread here.
Has anybody found any good sources for some nice Hawaiian style VW shirts since this thread was last posted to?
Even a source for some VW material might work since I know a good seamstress who might be able to make me one.
Thanks,
Bill |

I got mine from Airhead Parts back in the day. They're sold out, but still use an image of it in their catalogue.

I can't believe the irony of this relit thread! I picked up one of these exact shirts Saturday at a local thrift store (Deseret Industries) for $3. It has a "scene" from Kelley Park's vintage gas station and the "Endangered Species" splits. Very cool. I'm wearing it to the Spring Meet to see if I can get a couple of the owners of these cars to sign it! The Golden Gate chapter has many cars that attend every year- so chances are good for a couple. _________________
