I need to replace the frame head base plate due to some rust issues. Is the Thing base plate the same as a Ghia? From what I have been able to deduce is there are two different types' one for ball joint front ends and one for link type front ends. A website in the UK shows that a Trekker base plate is the same as a Ghia. Is there any difference between the Treker front end and a US Thing frame head? The VW part number they show is 113701311B. I appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Howard

Any balljoint frame head should work. The only difference in the front ends are the stiffener plates that run back to the floor pan, and the trailing arms/spindles

Ball joint frame head will work , no suprises.
Factory Thing / 181 beams have reinforced shock towers.
