I have a beater rusting 67 that I am needing to replace the pass. rear 1/4 panel. The original 67 panel was hit and the insurance repair job was poorly done(long before this car came into my life). When I removed the paint. I found 3/4" of the pink stuff hidden under the paint. That and the rust drove me to cut the panel out before I found the helpful folks here at the samba.
My question is. What is the difference between the 67 and 68 1/4 panels?
I was told that the outer skin is the same. But the inner structure of the 68 is different from the 67. I just can't tell the difference.
I have a 68 1/4 panel in hand and want to install as much of it as I can into/onto the 67 body if possible.
Thanks in advance for any guidance. _________________ I have learned over the years.

A little clarity here.
The 67 vs 68 1/4 panel from the "B" pillar to the top of the wheel arch inner structure is what I was meaning. The outer skin is good to go. Just curious about the inner structure described above.
This is my 8th type 1. It's the first one that I have done surgery on. The others I didn't give a crap about. Now that I am a bit older it matters a little. This 67 just needs alot of love.
No sarcasm intended here. I know the difference between the bumper mounts.
Thanks flasmoker. I think I mislead you. _________________ I have learned over the years.
