Bryan67: You're a good man. Don't let it be said otherwise.

wrong thread but 5x205

your front is probably 4x130 which is late model VW. If it's 5 lug, probably 5x130, which is porsche pattern

Did you happen to catch the name of the model? Whoever she is, she's 27 years older now.

VW Trends liked to put babes in bikinis on the covers even more than Hot VWs did.

Actually, she's not.

Linda Sobek was killed in 1995 by Charles Rathbun.

Car was found in a 1989 issue! Shocked

Who could ever have guessed? Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

To the OP:
Are you _Sure_ you don't want to restore it to all of it's '89 glory?
That is a piece of history there..

Plus,
You could do a quickie Bondo-job to fix it, and still be period-correct. Cool

Thanx good people, and especially Bryan67 for helping me find out more about this car. I was able to finally purchase a copy of the August 1989 issue of VW Trends. This is some of the stuff I found out about the car:

The car was originally done in Santa Barbara, California. The customization was started by a guy named Mark "Ickabod" Ellis, who did major alterations to body, and explains where the marking "ICK" means. Half way through project, Ellis sold it to Dino De Nunzio $175. A guy named Scott Anderson in Goleta, California did the paint. Colors were Centari Orange and White, clear coated with gold pearl. The white wool carpeting was installed by Dave's Creative Upholstery

-The original engine 1835cc. Import Auto in Santa Barbara did the machining on engine.

-Car was had an automatic transmission in 1989.

-Dino used it as Daily Driver. He took 2nd Place at SCS Showdown 8, Show for the Gold (Type III category). First Place (Type III category) at Phoenix Bug-O-Rama.

-Dino Denunzio apparently runs Denunzio's Dino Paint & Body Shop in Goleta, California.
