I'm not really concerned with being year correct but is there modifications that can be made so '67 doors fit a '66 bug? I just learned the latch's are different. So is there a way to mount the correct strike plate etc? |

Note: the latch and striker position changed as well both in the door and the body after 1966.
Can???? Sure.. Cutting and welding.. anything can be made to work..
Converting the body to the PIN opens up a large supply of good later doors that will fit as well.
Converting the 67 door to the old 66 slider latch may prove to be more difficult with alignment and mechanism installation.
Are ya having a hard time finding 65/66 doors???

Are you STILL trying to get rid of the TWO sets of 66 doors !!!
If you lived between St. Pete and Dallas I could stop by on my way .
The drivers door I bought has a broken vent latch . _________________ 63 two fold rag

Yep I have some nice survivor 66 doors.. mostly complete and not cheap.
I plan to take them to a swap meet. Should be an easy sale. .. once the buyers pay up. .
I haven't really tried to sell my 65-66 doors lately.. everybody wants me to ship..
.. Um nope..
I have 2 stripped 65/66 shells in my scrap pile now.. ..
