Hi Folks
Yes, today again the military swap meet was held close to my home.
Here´s pics of the VW stuff.
And it´s a false Impression to think all that is common as dirt here around.
It´s just a bit concentrated there.

The prices are in a wide range.
Some parts are just too expensive, others are good deals.
I bought three pairs of NOS standard split wiper arms bith blades for a steal.
The cyclone price was around 320 Euros if I remember it right.
The speedo and the semas where bought by a collector just a little while ago
and he had them with him just to show them to friends.
They where not actually for sale there.

The guy with the lever shocks I might be able to get in touch with.
I do not remember the price.

The short shocks where redone and the price was 90 Euros each.
I do not know the seller and I think they got sold.

Yesterday there was the other military Meeting held near to me.
That is less for parts and more for whole cars. They make rides into the woods twice that day and really use them for what they where made.
Here´s pics.

One more cool vehicle stood there.
Made by a Company named MIAG in Frankfurt in 1950.
Close to the early "Plattenwagen" in the VW plant.
Once equipped with a 25 hp VW engine it actually sports a later 30 hp engine but still is equipped with a 1949 gearbox.
The lights remind me of Kubel ones. Take a look.

Is that mounted transversely with a drive shaft from each side of the transaxle running to front and rear differentials? as in all wheel drive?, cool!

No, they must have blocked the differential.
There came just one axle out of the gearbox going to the rear axle of the "car". On the other side a little tube came out. It looked like a speedometer shaft going to the front.

And they did a hell of a job on the linkage for clutch and shifting.

Some cool engineering in there.

Nice MIAG. They also made forklift trucks with VW engines. I know at least 3 near my home. 2 in the same spot. If I can , I will take a couple of picts. The drive set up is different on them.
Thanks Carsten. for sharing.

I must admit, I wouldn't know what half the parts were at these swap meets, but I am super envious of the vehicles you have been able to experience "in action" ! I have only ever seen them in museum settings. Sadly I will never have the funds to own one….*sigh*….maybe one day I can beg a ride Laughing …... Til then my Iltis will have to suffice…

Thanks for posting some drool worthy pics of the goings-on! Smile
