The red coach button would be the most uncommon. They are repoping the blue one so watch out for that. The EMPI logo fetches the biggest money based on the 20-30 sport wheels I have bought and sold over the last 15 years. For some reason the EMPI logo buttons tend to have more cracks in front on the logo than the coach buttons... doesnt make sense but it is what it is. |

yes hes right and your right but if your looking for the absolute top of the hill! Look for the petri empi button it fits the vdm wheel. They are not the same as the empi button that came with the vdm. Their not easy to find anymore but are awsome looking. Heres a pic of mine!

Ok Its prefrence here! The red is very uncommon so I think it might be more rare. The empi button for the vdm is also hard these days but comes up more than the red coach. But more people seem to want the empi simply because its EMPI and more nostalgic. So its up to you!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I have 2 EMPI VDM Coach steering wheels
one has the plastic base with metal insert.

So I would guess Petri made metal bases to replace the plastic
one's because they were warping. So the all metal ones are the
later versions made I guess. _________________ '63 Sunroof Ruby Red Notchback

where can i get just that button, with the blue empi, don't need the base. and have you herd of anyone refinishing them. I have one that came with the bug i purchased. And the idiot painted it. A crap job I might add. Obviously did not know what he had. But i would like to strip it down to original Finnish.
Thanks |

The wheel itself: No, not in any way.
They are for sale all the time. |
That having been said;
How hard would it be to locate the all metal 'boss top'?
As I have a complete wheel, however the plastic 'boss top' is pretty warped.
So I am sourcing a replacement. What would the widely accepted term for it be? |
