reason heater line Tees separated?

In my syncro, the heater line Tees were on opposite sides of the frame - one teed off to the rear heater before passing through the frame to the front.

The other passed through the frame first, Teed off, with one line headed forward, the other passing back through the frame and up to the rear heater core.


Thoughts on this configuration welcome!

I think on the WBX the one on the driver side originates on the left head at the thermostat housing. When I was prepping a Syncro for an inline VW engine, I went ahead and eliminated that whole section of heater line that ran around the transaxle on the driver side.

Doh!

I completely forgot that this was potentially not the stock configuration... already had a 5 cylinder in it!

Been so long since I had WBX...
