Definately guide coat! The more you guide the better. I have no idea what would cause your spray to be That rough. I've sprayed that stuff in the winter with the same tip unreduced with 7psi and it wasnt like that. Here is some I sprayed today, no reducer and 50 degrees. This is just after spraying. Still very wet.

I'm sure I am doing something wrong with the air pressure. I will see if I can get some help when I'm ready to spray the last panel. It will be a couple weeks, it is taking me 4-5 hours per section and I have 6 sections (luckily it's a convertible). I don't know if I will ever get all of this dust out of my shop, it is the most miserable fine dust I have ever dealt with. Even though I wear a respirator it gets in my eyes when I am block sanding.

Yep. Welcome to bodywork. Also you might want to wear some gloves. That dust really days your skin out too.
