Having personally been the store in Las Vegas, the show is staged for sure.

I haven't been there, but my sister lives there and was contacted and went in for a pre-interview. Apparently Rick, Old Man, Corey are not there that often, and it's pretty obvious that they have done some computer homework in advance, that they "just don't happen to know" all that stuff. Ever notice that the background is typically sparse when they talk to a potential seller?

Apparently crowds line up to get in, and they make a lot of $$$ selling coffee mugs, T-shirts, etc.

I will say that bring the show to TV was a GREAT idea, folks come to the shop/show because they want to be on TV too. Rick must've had a falling out with Rick of Rick's Restorations, don't see him used any more.

Also, one can tell that the "homey" stuff like donuts, Chumlee's work outs, walking the dog, arranging parking outside, some of the challenges and bets, etc. are clearly staged.

But because it is a national show, they do get some interesting historical stuff in at times. But stuff like a record that clearly states on its cover "Collector's Item" is NOT - Rick didn't need to call in an expert for that !!!

But I think that the gal from the collectible bookstore is ind of hot.

Chumlee well does not surprise me at all.

Chumlee is also staged, but he does appear genuinely stoooopid. He may help ratings but in real life would've been fired long ago. His weight was given at 273 lbs in the show where he had to lose weight. Remember him listing his breakfast, then morning snack, then lunch, etc. - and zero exercise?

everything on tv is staged. 99% is bs. some of the cop shows are real...some arnt. the "reality shows" are bs Shocked oh somuch stuff is staged and the prices are over inflated on most everything .like the storage wars, and stuff like that.+ hard to see the crab show and the prices they say there getting for the crabs, but.....go to a buffy and get them so cheep already to eat and check the market prices.......remember they guy selling them to the public has to make some good $ too.....so.... I think the $ stated also includes the money from the episode paychecks because they also get paid a lot of$$$ to do the show.... with that said the price is right is.....awesome!!!! :shock the junk shows buy cheepo and sell high and they drive up what we end up paying +they get the show paycheck, so who is paying all this $$$ we are. just like the 58 million dollar ball player, even if you dont like sports you still pay that useless sob.

most of those crabers are from the PNW I know a lot of guys that have gone up there over the years
most of the high dollar quality crab goes straight to asia(mostly japan) and the low quality stuff comes down here and there are boats that fish for crabs all the way down the pacific coast which is where those buffet places get theirs
even working on a shitty crab boat for a season most deckhands make about $10-$20k but that is before taxes

but your right almost all these shows are stage to some degree with pawn stars, counts customs, and American pickers being the worse of the bunch as they are 99.9% staged to the point that even the price they buy and sale stuff for is made-up compared to what they actually get/pay for things
