Can someone tell me how to contact Kiever? I tried the email link, but I guess they don't have anything for sale now. Bob |
You mean Keverspecialist?
This is their Ebay page:
http://www.ebay.de/sch/ficto947/m.html?item=322021...7675.l2562
I think they are selling only via Ebay nowadays.
Click on the item you wan't, then scroll down the page and click the button "Frage stellen" (Make a question). _________________ My cars: 1972 VW 411 Variant; 1973 VW 412 4d sedan |

Ah.....I have something to help you! |
Thanks Ray! I think i have read this explanation years ago maybe on STF. There's so much information on these pages that i can't remember it all anymore... I have both potmetal and plastc bezels so i can try with both of them. I was thinking that i just might apply some filler (and maybe fiberglass) on the palstic ones to make them straight, but the potmetal bezels feel much more better quality. _________________ My cars: 1972 VW 411 Variant; 1973 VW 412 4d sedan |

Yes. They seem more substantial.
I would think that blocking up the plastic ones. ...and selectively applying heat with a heat gun could do the same effect.
But.....I don't know how permanent it would be. The metal ones....I did this to back in 2001 and they are still straight. Ray |

I got package from keverspesialists today and the seals look & feel very good and have a strong 'new rubber'-smell, fresh stuff.
I really need only windshield seal but I think I'll swap all of them as seals don't get better with storage and I've a full set.
Unless someone needs 4-door small window/rear window seals specifially, of course: For me those are a kind of surplus currently. (PM me if so.)
I've a spare part windshield but now it would be an option to order a brand new one from Kuttila ... this is tempting ... brand new windshield and seal ...
I'll have to ask what it would cost if the local autoglass shop changes it for me. _________________ Kharon -- '62 typ1, '63 typ14, '61 typ21, '65 typ34, '74 412, '75 typ26

Changing the seals is not a big job -especially when you have fresh seals
If your car has a toughened (not laminated, it WILL crack!) windshield you can push it out on a sunny day, when the seals are soft.
This is me, replacing the windshield on my Saab 99
Side and tail windows come out the same way.
If you have to get a laminated windshield out without breaking it you will have to cut the old seal from the outside first. And that's not a problem anymore, as we can get new seals. _________________ My cars: 1972 VW 411 Variant; 1973 VW 412 4d sedan |

I ordered rubber seals with the groove, and they were shipped on Mar 22. They are now available from Kever. Bob |

I received the new seals for both windshield and back window. After checking them over I couldn't see any sign of a corner fit. Has any one installed these seals? I'm totally uninformed on the subject, and have never installed a windshield. Will these seals conform to the corners ok? I tried forming the corner by hand, and they buckle on the inside. Bob |

Yup, I was going to cut the old seals as those are quite hard and almost brittle.
Breaking the current windshield isn't a problem by itself (it's going to trash bin anyway) but it leaves a lot of small pieces of glass everywhere that way, better to cut the seals and discard the old glass as one piece. _________________ Kharon -- '62 typ1, '63 typ14, '61 typ21, '65 typ34, '74 412, '75 typ26
