Rubber boot chassis

Great being here

I have a dunbuggy that has a 1956 chassis. My focus right at the moment is the seal that allows the choke, accelerator and the clutch cables to exit the chassis. A picture of the seal is below. The other picture is of the metal tubes exiting the chassis. Now this chassis has been shortened. my question is, should these tubes be come out as far as they are? Should they be coming out at all? Also Are they configured in the right order?
