Lets see, it took them a year to get on to say they were going to give us an update, I'm guess it will be 10 months or more before they get back on....

Proves that fast food can't be bad- or that PB&J can counter act the effects of longterm bus exposure (dirty fingernails, money shortage, potential marital problems, confused mental state when people say "vac or 009?" etc..) Hey I hope my $10 got spent on those chilli dogs!

This is what I think we all should do waiting for the "Lost Leader"

Burn incense and chant what ever feels really good for you and your bus. ---could be a HUMMMMM---a tune___or a down right JIG . WE need to vibe this Dude in to let him know just how much the world of Bay owners want to know and really care about the out come.

And while your at it -- burn a bit of sacred sage for Colin and his travels in his bus---Per-'sef-'o-nee.

Attention all 3 hippies and a green bus supporters. We are dreadfully sorry at the delay of the next installment of the continuing saga of 3 hippies and a green bus. There is an explanation for this literary neglect. The one known as leader has decided to “tie the not.” Yes that is right my friends you read right. The preverbial wedding bells are ringing. I suppose it is inevitable for many with a heart for love. At some point you simply need a greater avenue of realease. The wedding tackle has been clasped and locked there is no backing out of this one…oh no it’s true this is no hoax. Leader is taking the plunge into that deep dark mysterious hole known as marriage. Leader in what could only be described as a string of supernatural occurrences has finally met a girl who he has known for years. Sometimes the best things in life and the most incredible gifts to receive are at your fingertips. If only we could rid ourselves of those things that blind us to all the possibilities. Consequently my friends leader has been severely preoccupied with his significant other and will not be able to finish this story L… BUT WAIT!!!!
Hark who is this I see?? Doth my eyes deceive me??? Could it be??? Fear not my friends for our salvation is nearer than we believed the night is far spent and the day is at hand. For on the horizion stands a champion a loan warrior with his face set like flint against the powers of darkness Twisted Evil who would attempt to conceive the early demise of this incredible tale. One man, willing to lay down all for the greater good of his VW brotherin and sisterin. There is always one brave soul in the heat of battle that will throw down his gun and pick up the flag. In a heroic display of sheer abandonment and an endless relent of concern for ones own personal safety. This self scaraficing hero of liberty will lead the charge right down the throat of the face of evil. Victory is inevitable for thos without the concept of failure. I would not leave you orphaned for I have come to you. That your joy may be full…yes it is I RESIDUE dunt..dunt….dahhhhh!!!!!! Cool

This answer to a very sencere request for information on The Bus they called Sonshine is totaly a slap in the face of we that want to know about nuts and bolts of the green one-----yes joy should be shared for the leader and Love . but I personally think it is a scam and have little interest in what they are selling. Snuff the incense for false causes.

Would just want any one of the Hippies three to tell us on the Samba board what the Green Bus is up to and how is it being treated?

Will the Leader be includeing it in his vows of matramony or has it been cast away in his lust for an other??? Simple question and we need a answer from him to stiffle the doubt of truth. Very important and easy to answer.

so i just wanted to quickly jump on the board and let you all know that residue's post is absolutely true. this is leader and i am getting MARRIED!!!!!!!!!! hallelujah!!!!!! so i pretty much spend most of my days lost in love and it's pretty hard to function right now, so i must withdraw from this fun. i know that if i tried to finish the story it just wouldn't be right. so residue has picked up where i left off and i'm pretty sure he'll be posting the second part today. just to clear up any confusion i gave him my username and password so he'll be posting under my username. well it's been fun and i'm pretty excited for you all to hear what happened. i will give you one hint:

we named this thread the resurrection of the 3 hippies and their green bus. why would the green bus need to resurrect if it did not first.........?????????? think about it.........

on with life.......Leader's bride's name is Princess MacBethalot. (she got that name from residue late one night on the way home from a road trip to the Windy City) she's the most amazing woman Leader has ever met and he's pretty much lost his mind and he loves it!!!!!!!!

peace to all
--Leader

Boy, this is even getting weird for me.

I guess all you " readers' kinda get a feeling of what I went through with these guys now, right? Have pity on me ... PLEEASSEEE.

I'm happy for Leader for finding the "one". It's hard to imagine but things happen.
I'll never forget the stain he left on my cool white fur covered swivel chair after not washing for 10 days. If he found a girl who can deal with that sort of excess then he's one lucky dude!

OK, Rez, you better start writting 'cause you got a sitting audience waiting on your butt. We want deatails. EVERYTHING. Mile by sputtering/coughing/hacking/dripping/grinding/crunching/trecherous mile.

Hey hippies, put the chick down, return to the keyboard and put us out of our misery!
Leader don't forget the old adage "marry in haste, repent at leisure" which equally applies to busses!
Congratulations and good luck- now kick Residue and tell him to get typing....

Ah so where do I start? Ok so we had just left Ami’s house and were on our way to meet with the one who we were at this point still calling the dude. This would change quickly as we would get to know are new found friend. Later he would be lovingly referred to as grease. Due to the painstaking hours…and hours he spent under our bus. Some of you may know him as bottomed. (Just for fun facts) >>> are you aware that bottemend's name not only refers to that part of an engine but also makes reference to the fact that he is a totally sick bass player. He been playing over a decade and has something crazy like 12 basses<<< that was just for free. So what can I say about grease…I honestly am at a loss for words when I think about this man. (Which is really crazy if you knew me) Grease displayed more compassion and character to total strangers than anybody I have ever met. I mean I used to tour dead and phish and stuff like that, so needless to say I have been broken down in Timbuktu many times and have often been on the receiving end of a free ride or somebody sparing a couple extra bucks. But the things that grease would do for us over the next 15 odd days are nothing less than remarkable. Many times the hippies have sat in contemplation over the trip and honestly wondered if grease was even real. We would imagine ourselves pulling up outside his studio apartment. Walking up to the door and knocking only to find a large Spanish family living there whom supposedly had been living there for years with no knowledge of a previous owner. Or perhaps we would find the studio unlocked completely deserted amaze of bad electrical wiring hanging from the ceiling and broken tile flooring. Everything covered in layer upon layer of dust empty without the slightest sign of anybody inhabbitating this place in decades. Leaving us in the wake of confused memories questioning what really transpired over the last 15 days in the Hispanic district of LA. Maybe the world will never know for sure. I certainly have my own doubts about the validity of my own memories. Sometimes when something stretches your mind to it’s braking point your brain simply will not receive it as truth regardless of the facts. I mean is it honestly possible that a stranded group of 3 would meet in the hour of their desperation. Unquestionably the only man in America or the history of civilization that would sacrifice his time and energy over the next half a month day in and day out in an attempt to help these poor souls make it to their promise land. This all done in the full knowledge that he would not be receiving any compensation for his efforts. People like that these days are few and far between. My sincerest thank you goes out from the 3 hippies to a true one of a kind, a giant among men. Grease my dread tam goes off to you my friend, you have earned a spot in the hearts and memories of 3 hippies that will not soon be forgotten. You have become immortalized as a central figure in a story that I will undoubtedly be telling for many years to come. May the sun be forever on your shoulders and the wind forever at your back. Grease is undoubtedly the only reason we escaped from La. For a while I was seriously concerned we were going to become permanent fixtures. I remember the day vividly it was probably day 12. I was walking back to the bus from the 99 cent store I had just retrieved our daily bag of ice. When a toothless prostitute confronted me very cordially. “ hey hunny, are you going to be eatin at da mission tonight for suppa” …uhhh yes, I am…I replied, “yeah you guys are in the green bus at the end of the alley right?” …yes… “Ok sweetie” she replies through her toothless smile “I’ll see you tonight at supper” She was actually a very nice lady. It wasn’t the fact that she was trying to pick me up or something. That didn’t worry me it was the fact that we had been seen in the neighborhood so much we were now known as regulars at the mission and locals on the street. Bowing my head I thought, “I have got to get out of LA!!!!” as a wave of desperation blows over me.
For all of the mechanical details and hilarious moments spent with grease the leader residue and the waterboy you are simply going to have to refer back to the original thread. I am not going to be attempting to cover that 15 or so day stretch. What I will be attempting to tackle however is the trip home and our present status. So… after what seemed to be years we have our bus running and in the best condition we can get it in with our finances. We are going for it. You could cut the excitement in the air with a knife. We were strapped down ready to go and we weren’t turning back. The four of us walked out of bottemend’s apartment and were headed 2 blocks down the road where sonset was parked. As we strolled along the busy street that night the strangest thing happened. A white suv as it passes us swerves a bit and slams on its brakes taillights light up and we all turn in amazement. We hear a scream more like and excited yell than a blood curler. We all stand in astonishment thinking could our lives get any weirder. We watch as the driver throws the mysterious suv into reverse and speeds backward to where we stand on the corner. I thought for a moment we were going o be ran over when suddenly the suv slams up against the curb into a parallel park position. To everybody’s complete surprise out jumps Ami !!!!! Yes that is right Ami. The beautiful dreaded momma that put us up for a night and cooked us the phattest Mexican breakfast I have ever ate. Ami lives in Pasadena we were now over 15 miles away…LA 15 miles equates a lot farther than straight 15. She just happened to be driving by when she saw 3 familiar young men of her own kind. Baffled we tried to explain in a rush what had transpired. As far as Ami knew we were back in the flats of IL by now. Why were we still here??? How did this happen??? Why were you driving by??? How did you recognize us in the dark??? Quickly as everybody hugged and loved with big smiles thankful to see our friend again. We all tried to compute the possibilities. What are the chances that the young women that marked the start to our time in La would now also mark the end of it? How is it she recognized us speeding along at night? What are the possibilities that our ships would cross again? Over half a months later, 15 miles away from our original point of crossing in a city of millions and millions of people. What is even more amazing was the exact timing we were walking from greases studio to the bus to get in and drive away…maybe a 5 minute window in which she met us again. This timing particularly signified the end of our time in La. There was simply nothing left for us to do except drive away…nothing that is except give Ami one more hug and get set off with the blessings and conformation that our time in LA had not been wasted. On the contrary every day we spent was numbered and our step were ordered before us. Nothing happens by accident and everything happens for a reason. I can tell you that when the wind blows it may seem sporadic but I assure you it is not without purpose.
The apparently chaotic creation demonstrates a creative precision revealed. For not all who wander are lost…and just because you know where you are going doesn’t mean you have found your way. Many people travel but few are those who take a journey
The words of the Z MAN
