|
|
I brought my car to be painted at Maaco. When I went to look at it, the painted it the wrong shade. I am not sure it he wrote the wrong number or what, but it is not correct.
I have to see him tomorrow about it, but what recourse do I have? Do they have a satisfaction policy?
The paint was $1600+ and it is NOT the color I wanted.
Anyone, advice is appreciated... _________________

Some paints have variation chips that cover several shades of a particular color. This is supplied when the paint company makes a mistake in the manufacturing process for OEM work.If the color is wrong though it sounds like the shop has a problem. There used to be a saying. The customer is always right...Be pleasant when dealing with the shop initially and "feel" them and their attitude out.Don't pay until you are happy.Thats how I would handle it. _________________ I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

I hope so. I am not a confrontational type person and when I saw the car I had that sinking feeling.
The color I wanted was the split that is in "MY GALLERY"
I hope they are willing to fix it. I can't swallow paying twice to get the right color.
Do they have a satisfaction gaurantee? _________________

Took care of it today. Looks like another $1000 for new paint. The color swatch in the office looks different than the color that the car is.
The color is SO BAD, that I am going to pay to have it repainted. I would rather paint it with Rustoleum spray paint, than the color that it is. The color that the car is now is a mustard.
I will not go to MAACO ever again and am now 100% against Maaco.
I called customer service and they would not help. They said that as long as the color is close to the swatch, they won't do anything. The swatch is a Mocca in the office, after the clear coat and outside, the color is a now yellow mustard.
$2600 for a Maaco Paint job is crazy.
AVOID MAACO. For $2600 I could have had it done by a Real Paint Shop. _________________

insted of having it repainted, i would of talked to my lawer first.
if the color chip is different then what they put on the car, then it's there mess up, not yours.
i'd tell them to redo it right on there dime or have them talk to your lawer.

The color swatch is close when held up to the car, but the look of it on the entire vehicle appears as a different color.
I am not into the messy lawyer route. I am working with him to fix this.
This car is my baby and my first project I have ever completed like this. I do not want to ruin the whole thing by turning the car's shining moment into a legal sh** fest. I am probably going to work with him the best I can and suck it up.
i just wish the Maaco had a better policy for satisfaction.

never bring anything but a beater to Maaco.
a backyard job is better then Maaco.
a group of monkeys with paint brushes is better then Maaco.
if Maaco had a better policy for satisfaction, they wouldn't be called Maaco.
you get what you pay for.
i'd live with the first paintjob and cut your losses untill you can save up for a better one at a real paint & body shop. _________________ Frank

Maaco has never been known for high quality work. They're more quantity, than quality. Hence the cheaper jobs, using cheaper materials for a cheaper price. If you're car is destined to be a daily driver, than maybe Maaco would be an option. But for a show quality job, you can't skimp on paint. Lessened learned I guess, but man that was the hard way. _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Forgot to add, you better ask for a customer satisfaction guarantee prior to handing them another $1000 |
Just in case you take it back there

Kinda like a doctor. If you have to advertize on tv sumthin aint kosher! You would be better off letting the local community college that teaches body repair do it. _________________ I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

Always view the paint in natural light, take it outside. It often looks totally different in natural light then when viewing in the yellowish-tinted man-made lighting. |
