Broken rear hatch button troubles :/

Hi all,

My square was broken into a while ago and aside from ruining the barrel they managed to snap the little rod that turns and unlocks the latch... I re keyed the barrel but I can't figure out what to do bout the little rod
I can't I imagine there would be a lot of them kicking around. It's also a little weird that a part like this would be forged I thought.
Any ideas what I can do to fix it?

Buy a new one.

There are at least five in the classifieds for sale.

Buy a cheap one (no key) if you're getting it rekeyed to match your other locks or use it for parts.

I wouldn't waste the time trying to fix it - I'd just replace it with a new one and make sure it's lubricated properly.

Hey I got a new hatch button and I'm still having trouble with this,
Is that little pointy section on the button marked (A) meant to press against the part on the mechanism marked (B) ?
I swear I've tried every rotation on it and it never seems to line up with it

Looks like you have a lock from a earlier model. That late model striker assembly can not be used with that lock style. Check this add for the late model lock assembly.
