I've been thinking og building me a baja, nothing crazy, just a mild car to play around with. Probably just raising the suspension maybe spacer between chassis/body, trimming the fenders, but probably no fibre glass front/rear clip...
Been looking in this forum, and find a well of info and lots of build threads.
For a beginner, what is the best model to start with, swing axl/IRS, link pin/ball joint/Mc Person? Any good build thread to look for?
I'm not confident with welding other than sheet, no structural like beam/shock towers...
Thanks,
Danny |

I suggest you avoid McPherson Strut front for offroad. But Swing Axle or 4-joint IRS rear is fine. Otherwise any model or year Bug is fine to build a Baja Bug from. Some places have rules for cars to be registered for the road that make it better to use one year instead of another year. But they will ALL make a good Baja Bug. _________________ Richard
