I see that bug everyday on my way to work. It sits outside behind a gate in Simi at his VW shop. I could of sworn he was selling it for like $6900. He does have a ok split window bug in his shop. Wonder what he would ask for that. _________________ F#CK CANCER

Seats look incorrect for a 66 and the dash is lacking the center defrost vent. |

Clearly the result of a non-VW guy building a VW with a JC Whitney catalog. I can't even get to all the things wrong (everything under dash painted seafoam, upside-down grab handle, shoddy top) without addressing the obvious: the way this boner strapped his pile to the trailer.
I hope it stays on CL and doesn't wander over here with a condition #1 claim. _________________

Vertical vent wing post and single screw hole at the bottom of the passenger side A-pillar indicate late 62 to 64 body. Is that a hood release cable knob on the right side of the ashtray??? |

Holy cow, no vents at all? Crap. I didn't notice that at first either when I clicked on the link, it's like they put that rack on the engine lid to distract you from the fact. I wonder if the engine is a melted down piece of slag. Does the selling price come with the trailer? because that's the only way I'd go anywhere with that car.

It's got the larger back window from 1963 - which means very little on this car with all the mismatched parts on it. Looks like someone just found a rusted out hulk in a junkyard and then grabbed whatever bits and bobs that might possibly fit and threw them all together. _________________ Andy T.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox. |

Are those real whitewall tires? The left rear looks out of round. The doors are definitely pre-65 look at the distance between the door panel and the glass. Bumpers are definitely not original. What a mess. People false advertising cars like this is really starting to piss me off. I really hope it is just a case of not knowing, but when it is sitting on a trailer, that screams quick flip. _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |

Someone should email the seller this question. "Um, yea.. I'm just wondering how that engine cools itself when it has no means (wrong engine lid) to pull air into the engine compartment?" _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

This car was for sale on Craigslist for quite a while for $8500, now he wants $20,000? Are you fu**ing kidding me? This car has been hit front and rear, it has the wrong interior and seats, the wrong engine, and quite a few other things. If it didn't sell for $8500, what the hell makes him think he'll get $20k?

I seen this! I'm shocked at what people are selling these cars for nowadays. I bought my 60' ragtop for $7000. |

It's getting to the point where I'm ready to get out of the hobby. The cars are either junk, too much money, or both. Lol |

Another shit job restoration, and I wonder if that muffler could stick out just a bit further? I had no idea people still used stuff like the chrome engine tin. I'd be embarrassed to ask that kind of money for a car like that, what a joke.
