When I bought my 50 ; it came with NOS taillights housings and bulb holders. I just recently went to put them on the car and noticed they are different on the inside where you will install retaining clip for taillight glass. What is the year difference and which one is correct for my June/50 Beetle?
The light grey housing has slots for the clip and the dark grey one has no slots just an area where the clip would stay in place. _________________ 1950 Hoffman 11 G 1-0174999

Looking at your chassis number the car seems to be a june 1950 built split.
So those taillights would be ok for your car.
The ones with the small aluminium bezel ended somewhen around march 1950.
Your housings beeing Hella made will not have come with those Hassia lenses when new. But as long as they fit into the housings, why not. _________________ Master of my domain! |
