Gasthof & Hotel difference.
Gasthof is more of a Restaurant and drinking local where one can socialize.
May have a few rooms. Perhaps the English Pub is similar.
Hotel is more of a place to stay overnight with restaurant.
Its restaurant depends on the size of the hotel. Small hotels will normally only have breakfast available.
Any other thoughts. |
that is a pretty good explanation.
in a hotel all services are usually for the checked in guests.
a gasthof is much like a restaurant, and they may or may not have rooms. I am pretty sure i have been to gasthauses that did not rent rooms, in fact my parents used to have one. |
In a Hotel if it is not in a bigger city you would usually stay for a longer period or a whole holiday. Many will have a restaurant only for guests and not for the public.
A Gasthof is more meant for a short stay of travellers wich need a place for the night and offers drinks, lunch, dinner and sometimes breakfast for anyone who comes along. _________________ Master of my domain! |

Sounds to me like the same difference between an American Hotel and Motel. _________________ Prosit!

a gasthaus is more focused on the restauration, meals and beer, and such. Motels are primarily for spending the night. _________________ regards

Does anynody know where the registration plate on this Kubel comes from? Doesn't look German to me.
The air scoops interest me, as my 43 Kubel still has them on, and they were a popular addition for 'civilianised', after war Kubels, but most people have taken them off these days. |

St is for Steiermark in Austria. Kübels were very common transportation in poor occupied Austria after the war. Many have survived to date. |
