Is there only one manifold for FRD Carburetors, or did they make different ones for type 1 and type 3? - Everyone I have asked say, ahhhhh I think so but I am not sure...

Looks like just a different version/manufacturer used by Dellorto. FRD's will fit on VW,Weber & EMPI manifolds too.

I disagree; at least they are not a straight bolt-on. FRDs have a different stud spacing (68mm) than VW's Type 3 PDSITs (60mm). Look here- http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=881338

Last year I bought a pair of ICT dual-port manifolds. Those have a 62mm carb stud spacing.

kriskussee- thanks for your photo of the different FRD manifolds. A good friend just bought a good used set of FRDs at the Litchfield CT VW meet a week ago based on my inspection. Seller said the set was off a T3; your photo now shows the height difference so that my friend will need to make some spacers to use them on a Type 1. Spacers will raise up the carb base enough so that the CB crossbar linkage will clear the top of the generator.
