The interior is finished .
the motor has been rebuilt .
the transmission has been rebuilt and modified ( highway gear )
It's TOO HOT in Florida to do body work .
I am waiting on the mechanic to fit into his schedule to put it all together .
Meanwhile I have to work to pay the mechanic ....
Speaking of work ; If any of you are coming to the Tampa Convention Center next week for that BIG meeting ; I'll be the guy in the back of the room operating the studio camera .

I've changed engines in Chevies , Fords Plymouths and VW's when I was younger and had to . 
I like to build stuff ; Have you read my other thread " Replacing a roof car rolled over "
I let the mechanics get dirty 
I paid someone to change my oil in my 63 " Purple Car " last week .
And I paid someone else to cut my grass
I expect to be driving the Type6 before the summer is over .
I often wonder what the next project ( spelled automotive challenge ) will be ?

Be careful what you wish for !!!!
You might end up with a VERY large yellow truck in your driveway someday !!!
Babysnakes can attest to some of my trucking / Volkswagen adventures ... 
You should have seen me checking into the Hilton in Phoenix one afternoon ; FILTHY after spending the morning helping another Samba Member change a transmission

New job at conventions ; running a camera . They figured it was cheaper to teach me about studio cameras than pay me to sit in hotel rooms 3 or 4 days at a time .
non VW related photo of me at camera was deleted by ....?
