Found this VW stamping tool in a box of NOS parts and Matra tooling I just acquired. I've never seen one before and wondering if anyone else has. Talking with some fellow enthusiasts and we believe it was used for stamping the lead seals that went through the throttle cable hole on factory reman engines.

Yeah, that was also mentioned as well Everett. Not sure how it ended up in the stuff I got. I would assume this would be a tool only available to the people doing reman work for VW. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

I tried!
The wife has smaller fingers but for some reason wasn't keen on the idea. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

I like that thing, maybe you can make some lead vw jewelry, or make mini emblems and sell them like Chiclets. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. CB 044 heads, AutoCraft rockers, chromoly push rods

Brian Holcomb (rip) had one of those. I always wanted it for doing the steering boxes. Wonder where it ended up? |

Brian (RIP) loved to show off his VW logo stamping tool and would press a VW logo into your leather belt just for laughs! I too lusted in my heart after one of those pliers for many years. I'm not sure what happened to some or all of his stuff after his passing.
I eventually acquired one of those VW logo press pliers. Very cool! I ordered new lead and wire seals on-line somewhere and I am now poised to make my first million in the "governor re-sealing" business down in my garage. So, who's first in line?

Love this.
This photo came to mind as soon as I saw this thread.
