Hi all, I have a steering column that I do not know if its original to the car (71 Coupe) but I doubt it because when I took the car apart the wiring was butchered.
I have looked around the wiring schematic for a 71 but they either don't show all the wiring or I have some other year column.
My column has 14 wires and what I find in wiring schematics show only 10 wires.
How can I find what year this column is from so I can figure out what the extra 4 wires are for?

Its likely that someone changed out the turn signal assembly and or ignition switch. The new replacements will work with more than one application, hence the extra wires.
Just use the wires that match up with the diagram and you should be fine. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

Thank you for the reply. I'll move forward with what maches the electrical diagrams. _________________ Jesse

these are for Euro cars...tape them off, wind them up out of the way, or what I did was get into the turn signal switch and remove the connection and wires completely. As for the other one deduce through elimination.

Thank you for that diagram. It is perfect since I'm doing an aftermarket 21 circuit wiring harness and it shows this isolated section.
I am grateful that you guys show up here and take the time to sort out and through all the craziness so thanks again art_lessing and NOVA Airhead. _________________ Jesse
