Mechanical Brake Light Switch

I designed this switch and it doesn't interfere with my foot as suggested by one poster. It is covered with my buggy carpet and footing is clear. The other one I designed is a firewall mount switch, prototype. Both would work great and are about $11 to make. Bought bracket at lowes in framing bracket section, drilled and cut out spot for over the counter brake switch from Auto Zone ($6.95), used self taping screws to install on floorboard.

This firewall mount brake light activates when the chain loses tension and the switch activates. Just adjust so there is tension and when you step on the pedal the tension relaxes and turns on the lights.

They are not for sale anywhere, just thought I would share my solution to the switches on the master cylinder that don't work. I tapped the two wires off the switch to the leads off the master cylinder. Both systems will work if you really press hard on the pedal.
