I don't have direct experience, but have heard that the shrine tin does Not cool as well.... Something about the chrome not allowing as much heat to dissipating through the metal(?)....
I will say the engines I've seen with this stuff on,y look good for a short time. The chrome is cheap, and discoloration and rust start pretty quick.
You're better off getting used tin, and just giving it all some fresh paint.
Just my $.02......
Good luck! _________________ '74 Thing, "Our Thing"....

#1 The chrome will rust
#2 aftermarket tin does not fit as well as OEM
#3 Most aftermarket tin does not have small the little deflectors on the tin. _________________ Glenn

I bought a thing with chrome tin and it to me it doesnt look right. I think they only really suit dune buggies. The first excuse I get to drop the engine it will be painted. You can see the a picture in my photos I think. |

Most engine builders will agree that chrome although looks good does increase the heat in the engine compartment, as mentioned before. |
