Okay, I think my voltage regulator/generator/battery issue is solved now....mechanic found a bare wire that seemed to be causing all the issues. Now, when I have my wipers on and then go to turn the lights on...the engine stalls and dies. Wipers only....will remain running. Lights only...will remain running. Both...she dies. Any thoughts? I'm still having a bit of stuttering while driving and after driving for a few miles, if I stop and turn the car off and then go to start again...it takes a while to fire up. Thoughts? Are the two issues connected?

What year car?
Offhand I would say to check where the wire is connected that runs to the coil. Is it in the same circuit as the wipers and lights?

| It is a 1972 Ghia. Not sure about the same circuit. I'm a novice here....what coil and wire are you referring to? Thanks. |

It would be the wire from the fuse block to the engine coil. I suspect that something may be crossed or grounding out that coil wire when you turn on the switches.
You may want to look at the wiring diagram on this site.

| Thanks for the help. I jiggled the wires near the coil and make sure all the connections were tight.....working fine now! |
