That's great I get the feeling they'd be out of place at a Vw show. Real shows look for date codes too. Some even read the depth of paint in cases of claimed originality, doubt this would be a bug show. Lol |
No, it would be at a AACA show. When VVWCA was a real club it used to be that way too. |

I was a member ( starting in 1976 ) when Steve Herron ( I think) was President, before the East-West split and the presidency finally going to the east coast and the beginning of the end for me.
Schuller sort of disappeared, any ideas?
Does VVWCA have a national meet like most clubs? Regional meet? |

Many years later Terry wrote a very nice book on the history and origins of the VW. I think it's safe to assume he's retired now. Funny now but I remember they really agonized over letting 1958 and up VWs into the VVCA, much less anything water cooled, shit they would have had a baby kitten if anyone suggested that. Lol. Times change I guess. |

I used to go to a vintage show where water cooled, custom, dune buggies were not welcome. Elitist? No. Just wasn't their show. i still consider water-coolers to be Auto Union tho' I own one.
I owned an '07 Focus. Good car; 1st scheduled tune-up was at 100K mi. Collector car, restorable? Probably never. Also engine not meant to be rebuilt, replaced as a unit.
Drive what you want and can afford. Don't take it personally if somebody gets an ego trip 'cause theirs is better.
I'd like to never hear "fat chick" again. Demeaning to cars and to women. The whole body image thing. I like old cars; the older the better. I like vintage vs. custom. Elitist? No, It's like art I don't know much but what i like.
I think most of the whines are about misrepresentation and overpriced turds. Nobody whines if your ad is honest and price fair. _________________ It doesn't matter where you start, it all comes together; it all falls apart. |

I totally agree. If that's what a club is all about why then would someone want to crash the party? Believe me it has been done more than once though, in fact there is a list as long as your arm. |

Other words I'd love to never hear again, as far as in ads go:
Barn find
California rust-free car
Completely restored, pan off restoration (which is missing some things if you read later on in the ad)
Complete car, just put it together (price reflects that the car is complete and drive-able already.)
